The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown
Boys in the Boat.png
No one expected a ragtag crew team from the University of Washington to rise to the top of their sport-much less go to the Olympics in Germany. It was the 1930s, at the height of the Great Depression and the dawn of Nazi party ascendancy. The school had never been able to beat the Ivy League teams, but coach Al Ulbrickson had big ambitions-he just needed the right athletes...
We would love to have you join us to discuss this true story of nine Americans and their epic quest for the Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics

Get up and get moving!
Join us on Friday mornings at 9:30  for a low impact workout.  All you need is a comfortable pair of walking shoes. We'll use Leslie Sansone's WALK AWAY THE POUNDS dvd.
No strenuous exercise, just some walking in place and fun, swinging arm movements!  Dress comfortably, grab your water bottle and get ready to smile & laugh as a great way to start your Friday!

Memorial Bench for Barbara Baker
Generous donations have allowed us to put a beautiful granite bench on the side of the library beneath the flagpole in memory of Barbara Baker.  Barb was a devoted and well respected Library Trustee for 10 years.  She was avidly involved in the process of building our new library and was quite proud of it.  She was dear in our hearts and is greatly missed.
